Henry is a wonderfully loving and cuddly boy once he's inside the house! His funny and goofy personality sometimes gets him into a little trouble, especially with the allure of the garbage can, and his curiosity can lead him on some adventures. He loves to play and has done very well with other dogs of similar size. While outside, he can be a bit reactive to unfamiliar people and animals, and he may throw a bit of a fit if he can't interact with them. The good news? He is VERY treat-motivated, which will be a great asset! Henry has been with us for a long time, making him a Priority Paw.
Volunteers have described Henry as super sweet and a lover of attention. He would need some help with his leash skills as he tends to pull during walks or jogs. If you're looking for a running partner who adores people, Henry is your guy! He's an enthusiastic jogger and will happily run until he's tired. He's been curious about squirrels and birds, so he might not be the best fit for homes with smaller pets or birds.
During outings, Henry has shown great excitement for exploring. He does pull on the leash but responds immediately and comes right when called. He loves water and has enjoyed swimming and playing fetch, even tossing balls in the air himself to chase them. He would absolutely love a yard where he can run and play, especially with his favorite toys. Henry needs a patient and physically strong adopter, as he's still a lot of puppy! With consistent, gentle guidance, he's sure to mature into a loving and loyal family member. He's intuitive, clever, and absolutely adores having his butt scratched. He will be the best companion for someone who enjoys really playing with their dog!
