Raquel is an eleven-month-old Anatolian Shepherd with a heart as big as her future size! She came to us from a difficult hoarding situation with over 40 dogs, where her elderly owners were overwhelmed and unable to provide the socialization she desperately needed. While she didn't get the typical puppy start, Raquel is blossoming and is incredibly sweet, though still a little unsure of new experiences. She's eager to trust and is making wonderful progress, slowly but surely venturing out of her shell. With a little time and understanding, she's ready to blossom into the amazing companion she's meant to be.
Ideal Home
Raquel will be a large dog, potentially over 100 pounds, so a home prepared for her size is essential. A securely fenced yard is a must. While she's good with cats and other dogs, she would greatly benefit from living with a confident, friendly canine companion to learn from and gain reassurance. Due to her easily startled nature and ongoing confidence building, we recommend a home with children over the age of 10.
Ongoing Health
Raquel is a young, healthy girl with no known ongoing health conditions at this time.
Training & Support
Raquel is still learning the ropes of indoor living, leash walking, and navigating everyday household activities. She's not difficult, just inexperienced and a little uncertain. Patience, a consistent routine, and positive reinforcement will be key to her success and will go a long way in helping her build confidence.
