This sweet and loving Husky mix is Max, a 1-year-old pup with a heart of gold and a devoted spirit! Max is incredibly affectionate and cherishes hugs and pets. He truly shines when he has a canine playmate, and his foster mom says he "doesn’t have a mean bone in his body!" Max is happiest when playing with other dogs, and his best buddy is a playful Shih Tzu/Bichon mix named Bogie, with whom he enjoys games of chase in the yard. Indoors, Max is calm and content, happily entertaining himself with chew toys for hours. While he can't be crated, an indoor pen works wonderfully when his family is away. True to his Husky heritage, Max will let you know with a song when it's time for a potty break or a meal. He still has some puppy exuberance, so keeping things puppy-proofed is a good idea.
Ideal Home
Max would thrive in a home with another playful dog or dogs, and someone who is home more often to provide daily walks and dedicated playtime. He needs a home where he can be kept puppy-proofed.
Ongoing Health
Max is a survivor of a house fire at 8 weeks old, which caused severe burns. His skin has regrown and healed, but he may never have fur in some areas. He will require a coat for protection in cold weather and sunscreen for his skin in warmer months. He has been examined by veterinarians, vaccinated, treated for burns, dewormed, neutered, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Max will "serenade" you when he wants to go outside or eat, a trait common in Huskies. He still exhibits some puppy characteristics, so continued positive reinforcement and puppy-proofing are recommended. He is intelligent and would excel in various training activities. Max can jump over a 5-foot fence.
