About Coraline
Coraline is a sweet, curious, silly, cuddly, and endlessly entertaining 6-month-old Doberman or Beauceron mix. She currently weighs 45 lbs and is estimated to reach 85-90 lbs when fully grown. Coraline has a quirky charm that will keep you laughing, especially with her love for peek-a-boo, which often results in the cutest happy zoomies. She's very people-oriented and loves to be near her humans, following them around like a little shadow. While she enjoys being close, she's not overly clingy and shows affection with sweet puppy kisses or a gentle paw resting on your leg. Coraline has a wonderfully calm and balanced temperament, making her a great work-from-home companion. She's happy to entertain herself quietly with a toy or bone but also loves social interactions with people and other dogs, greeting them calmly before continuing to play. She's the perfect blend of playful yet laid-back, independent yet loving, and goofy yet intuitive, ready to be your sidekick and best friend.
Ideal Home
Coraline would thrive in a home that enjoys a mix of adventure and relaxation, from leisurely walks and hikes to cozy evenings on the couch. She needs to be included in her family's daily life and would love a fenced yard to run and play in. She enjoys sunbathing on the porch or in the grass. Due to her size and potential nervousness in busy areas, apartments or condos are not ideal. Coraline needs to have another dog in her forever home, as she thrives with canine companionship. She could also happily live with older children and cats. Public dog parks are not recommended for her. She does best with a human who is home more often than not, but would also do well with doggy daycare a few days a week.
Ongoing Health
Coraline is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations, has been spayed, microchipped, and is on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. She has a health certificate from a licensed veterinarian and has received any necessary vet care while in rescue.
Training & Support
Coraline is potty trained and kennel trained. She is still working on mastering leash training and needs additional practice to boost her confidence on walks. She is treat-motivated and will walk beside you with rewards. She alerts her foster when she needs to go outside by pacing at the back door and can also use a dog door. A consistent potty schedule is recommended until she settles into her new routine, and a doggy doorbell might be helpful if a dog door isn't available. She sleeps in her kennel without fuss but enjoys sleeping in bed with her foster.
