Ollie is a happy, social Black Mouth Cur puppy full of life and curiosity! He's about 5-6 months old and weighs around 18 lbs, but is expected to grow to about 40 lbs. Ollie gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, men, women, and even roosters, making him a very adaptable and well-rounded pup. As a young puppy, he's playful, energetic, and joyful. He loves to run, chase, and follow his dog companions, and truly enjoys being part of the group. He's also very affectionate and loves giving kisses, seeking human connection.
Ideal Home
Ollie is looking for an active family that enjoys outdoor activities and has a securely fenced backyard. He would do best in a home with a real intention to rescue a dog, understanding the need for protection and education of street animals. Families with experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, are ideal. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are a must.
Ongoing Health
Ollie has received a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI vaccines, a rabies vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, has been dewormed, and is microchipped. He also has a 4DX test and certificate, a negative heartworm test certificate, and is on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventive protection. He comes with a health certificate and a vaccine booklet.
Training & Support
Ollie is food-motivated and can be protective of his food, sometimes showing mild, passive defensive behavior if other dogs resist him. It's recommended to feed him separately and continue basic training to help him learn boundaries. It's important to understand that rescued dogs may require an adjustment period due to past experiences, and patience and understanding are crucial. Ollie is not house-trained, as this is a common challenge with rescued pets.

Transporation
Ollie is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our cross-country trip if adopted. A one-time transport fee of $400 USD covers door-to-door delivery. We organize 3-4 trips per year with a contracted transport company that ensures a safe and comfortable journey. You will receive real-time updates throughout the transport process in a private Facebook Messenger group.
