Hi, we're Beto and Pantera, a bonded pair who have spent our whole lives side-by-side and are looking for a forever home where we can stay together! We don't look alike, but our hearts beat in the same rhythm. Beto is a 35-pound black and white Pointer, and Pantera is a 22-pound black Dachshund mix. We're about seven years old, fully vaccinated, spayed/neutered, heartworm negative, and 100% house trained.
We were rescued in Costa Rica after showing up skinny, hungry, and desperate for help. Our family took us in, loved us back to health, and eventually brought us with them to the United States. We've been inseparable ever since! Our family is moving out of the country, so we are looking for a new home in the states. In Costa Rica, we participated in training classes as comfort dogs. People constantly remark on how sweet, loving, and easy we are.
Beto (Pointer, Male, 35 lb.)
I'm the singer of the duo! I love to "woo woo" and serenade you with my happy voice. I'm affectionate, snuggly, and incredibly respectful. I've never chewed anything I shouldn't, never had an accident in the house, and I sit patiently while my person says grace before meals. I walk beautifully on a leash, love car rides, and make friends with other dogs quickly when we walk together as a pack. I do have prey drive, so I'm not sure how I'd do with cats.
Pantera (Dachshund Mix, Female, 22 lb.)
I'm the little shadow who wants to be close to you. I'm gentle, snuggly, and just as respectful as Beto. I've never touched anything that wasn't mine and have never had an accident indoors. I walk well on a leash, love car rides, and warm up quickly to new dogs when we walk together. I have partial cataracts, so I see best in good lighting and may get unsure in dim spaces, but I navigate life just fine with a little reassurance. I also have prey drive, so cats are an unknown.
Ideal Home
We would fit well into just about any home, whether active, calm, or a little mix of everything. We are looking for a loving home where we can stay together, keep our routines, and continue being the gentle, affectionate companions we've always been. We are wonderful with children and friendly dogs.
Ongoing Health
Pantera has partial cataracts, so she sees best in good lighting and may get unsure in dim spaces, but she navigates life just fine with a little reassurance.
Training & Support
We are easy dogs, polite, quiet, and house-trained. We don't need crates and were trained as comfort dogs.
