Hello, my name is Aoki! I have big brown eyes and the most perfect mask around my eyes, I'm practically a superhero! I love to jump around like Happy Feet, and when I get really excited, I snort like a little piggy – it's incredibly cute! I had a bit of a rough start in life, coming from a shelter in Texas where dogs are euthanized if not claimed quickly. Thankfully, I was rescued by the wonderful folks at Save-A-Bull!
I'm mostly potty trained and am getting lots of praise and treats for going outside, which is helping me gain confidence. I'm even learning to do my business on a leash now! I'm also learning that my kennel can be a good place, and while I might whine a little before settling down for the night, it's not for long. I love sleeping in my kennel with my favorite stuffed toy and some cozy blankets.
I'm a super smart pup and have already mastered "sit" and "come"! I'm also working on making eye contact and learning all about being a puppy. I've learned to soothe myself with a special blue stuffy given to me by my human foster brother. I think taking some training classes together would be a fantastic way to bond with my new forever family! You'll be amazed when you see me learn something new – it's so rewarding to watch. My biggest motivators are TREATS and LOVE!
Ideal Home
I live with kids ages 7, 10, 12, and 15 in my foster home and I adore them! However, I can get a little jumpy, so I'd do best with human siblings aged 12 and older for now. I haven't met any cats yet. I live with two dogs, a large 96 lb. male and a six-month-old female. I tend to be on the dominant side and enjoy wrestling with my younger foster sister, though my big brother finds me a bit much and we don't play often. I'm looking for a patient and experienced home that can provide strong leadership. A confident environment will help me grow and excel. I need someone who can keep me very busy and help me work through my anxiety.
Ongoing Health
I needed to gain a little weight, but I'm doing much better now! My foster mom found fun ways to keep my brain engaged and my belly happy during that time.
Training & Support
I'm learning so much every day and am feeling more amazing by the moment! I'm even learning to nap without stress. I need a home that can provide structure and love to help me on my journey.
