Tobin is a 7.5-month-old, 13lb Havanese cross who is a bundle of energy and adventure! Found as a stray, Tobin has blossomed into a happy and athletic pup who loves to explore. He's not a couch potato; Tobin needs an active family who can keep up with his desire for vigorous daily exercise like running, hiking, or agility. He's a world-class jumper, easily clearing 4ft fences, and a master of the "door dash," so a secure 6ft fence and diligent door management are a must for his safety. Tobin is house-trained and enjoys his backyard time but needs to be actively exercised outdoors. He's a social butterfly who would do well with children over 7, provided his family is vigilant about keeping doors and gates secure. Tobin thrives on routine, doing well with a consistent bedtime. He's still working on daytime crating manners and can bark when left alone, making him less suited for attached living. In the car, he's an eager passenger, restless for adventure, but a dream on the ride home after a good hike. Tobin is a picky eater and needs a family patient enough to ensure he eats his quality dog food. He enjoys the company of other dogs and would benefit from a playful canine companion or regular doggy playdates. He has not been exposed to cats.
Ideal Home
Tobin needs an active, outdoorsy family who can provide him with vigorous daily exercise, ideally participating in dog sports like agility. A home with a 6ft secure fence is preferred, along with a solid plan for managing doors and gates to prevent him from dashing out. He would also be fine in a home without a fenced yard if his exercise needs are met through leash walks and runs. He is not suited to be tied in the yard. He would do well with children over 7 years old, with adult supervision and strict door management. He is not ideal for attached living due to barking when left alone during the day.
Ongoing Health
Tobin is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines. He has no known special health needs.
Training & Support
Tobin is house-trained. He is working on his daytime crating manners and can bark when left alone. He also needs continued training with doorway management. His new family will need patience with his picky eating habits and a commitment to ensuring he eats quality dog food. Post-adoption training is a requirement for all PDR dogs.
