Barkus Aurelius Roman, affectionately known as Aurelio, is a handsome 4-month-old Pit Bull Terrier/Labrador Retriever mix. Despite his regal name, Aurelio is a goofy, affectionate puppy eager to find his forever home. He has striking looks with his creamy tan coat and mesmerizing icy blue eyes, complete with soulful eyes and floppy ears. He’s the only boy in his litter of three and is a true gentleman, happiest when he’s with his people, whether playing with his sisters, enjoying belly rubs, or cuddling.
Aurelio thrives on a structured routine, which includes meals, play, crate time, potty training, naps, and learning opportunities. He quickly learned basic commands like "lay," "stay," and "paw," and is highly food-motivated, making training enjoyable. He's making great progress with crate and potty training and is learning patience and impulse control.
Ideal Home
A home that can provide consistency, positive reinforcement, and plenty of love. Aurelio is still learning that not all dogs want to wrestle and has not yet been introduced to cats or young children, so slow, supervised introductions would be recommended. He is friendly and affectionate but is still working on not jumping when excited.

Aurelio is a young puppy and will continue to grow and develop.

Barkus Aurelius is located in Texas. We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
