DARLA - Big Ears, Big Heart, Ready to Play

Meet Darla, a smart, playful, water-loving Shepherd mix with big ears and an even bigger heart. This approximately 4-month-old, 23-pound pup is curious, athletic, outgoing, and eager to learn. She was found roaming in Hamilton, Texas, and now enjoys daily love and attention in her Stephenville foster home.

Darla loves playing in the hose, splashing, exploring outdoor water features, chew toys, vehicle rides, and belly rubs. She is an active puppy who will keep her family smiling as she grows.

Ideal Home

Darla needs an active, engaged home that can keep her mind and body moving. A fenced yard is required. She gets along well with other dogs with proper, gradual introductions. Because she may bark at or chase cats, a cat-free home is best. She has not yet met young children, but is expected to do well with children who interact respectfully with puppies.

Ongoing Health

Darla is current on age-appropriate vaccines, rabies, and Bordetella, and receives monthly flea, tick, heartworm, and parasite preventatives. She is currently too young to be spayed.

Training & Support

Darla walks well on leash, uses dog doors, and rides well in vehicles, although she sometimes needs a puppy boost to get up. She is smart and eager to please and should do well with positive-reinforcement training.
