Daisy is a sweet, petite 5-year-old Lab mix weighing about 60 pounds. She is deeply bonded to her sister Stella, a 3-year-old Goldendoodle also weighing about 60 pounds, and they must be adopted together. Their owner passed away, and they are currently in a loving foster home where they have made significant progress adjusting to stability.
Daisy walks okay on leash but needs continued practice. She may pace and become anxious during storms, but after initial excitement when meeting someone, she settles into a calm, affectionate personality. Stella is playful and puppy-like, with continued training, confidence-building, and leash work recommended.
Ideal Home
- Daisy and Stella must remain together permanently.
- A secure fenced yard is required as their exercise area.
- They have done well living with a 3-year-old child.
- They currently live with other dogs. Although there were initial tiffs with a senior dog, they have since been calm and mostly keep to themselves.
Ongoing Health
The girls were very skinny when first rescued, and their family has helped them return to a healthy weight and good general health. Daisy had a significant flea infestation when she arrived but has since been consistently treated with flea and tick prevention.
Training & Support
Stella is crate trained, and both dogs view their crates as safe zones. They are crated separately during workdays and errands, have free run when their family is home, and choose to sleep together in an XL crate each evening. Daisy needs more leash practice, while Stella would benefit from continued training, confidence-building, and leash work.
