Himari

Himari is a sweet 10-month-old Terrier mix who currently weighs 22 lbs and is expected to reach about 33 lbs. She was born at the shelter after her pregnant mother was rescued. Himari is described as docile, affectionate, playful, friendly, and loving. She is still learning to trust new people and can be a bit shy and nervous initially. She absolutely loves to run and play with her dog friends!

Ideal Home

Himari would thrive in a home that understands the needs of rescued animals and is patient and experienced with dog behavior and training. She needs a family with high tolerance and patience, as she is still learning and will need time to adjust.

Ongoing Health

Himari has completed a comprehensive health protocol, including being spayed/neutered, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and microchipped. She has tested negative for heartworm and received a monthly preventive (Nexgard Spectra) for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. She also comes with a health certificate and vaccination booklet.

Training & Support

It's important to understand that rescued dogs, including Himari, are not typically potty-trained. She will need continued guidance and patience in this area. Her new family should be prepared for an adjustment period as she settles into her new home and continues to build trust.

• You will be asked to complete an online application, followed by a phone/email interview.
• A home check (virtual or in-person) will be conducted.
• A virtual meet-and-greet with Himari and her foster will be arranged.
• A trial adoption period will be offered.

Transportation

Himari is currently being fostered in Matamoros, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on her next cross-country trip. A transport fee of $400.00 will be paid by the adopter prior to departure.
