About ANNA
Hiya! My name is Anna, and I'm a sweet and sociable 1-year-old Lab Retriever mix looking for my forever home. I weigh about 27 lbs and stand 59 cm tall. My sister, Elsa, and I were rescued from the middle of the road when we were just a month old. We've been inseparable ever since and must be adopted together! We've had a lot of socialization thanks to our rescuer, accompanying her to work, on road trips, and even to restaurants. I'm a bit shy around new people and dogs at first, but with a little time, sniffing, and treats, I warm up and become very playful! I love to play with other dogs, especially Elsa, who is my rock. I'm an energetic pup and would thrive in a home that enjoys outdoor adventures.
Ideal Home
We are looking for a home that can adopt Anna and her sister Elsa together, as they are a bonded pair. Anna loves to play with other dogs and would likely do well in a home with canine companions. While she has interacted with children and cats on the streets, her behavior in a home environment with them is unknown. She will need an adopter prepared to help her navigate any prey drive she may develop.
Ongoing Health
Anna is spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. She will be tested for heartworm and other common issues before flying north. Please note that rescue dogs may require dental work after adoption, and these costs are the adopter's responsibility.
Training & Support
Anna is a work in progress with leash skills and house training, but she's doing pretty well! Consistent positive reinforcement and frequent potty breaks will help her succeed in her new home. WCP highly encourages adopters to do their own research and training beforehand.
Application Details:
- Applications start by contacting us through Wags.
Transporation
Anna is currently in Mexico City. Transport to the Pacific Northwest is available, especially if a flight volunteer is found for Vancouver.
