Vader is a gentle, easygoing 7-year-old black-and-brown German Shepherd mix who weighs 60 pounds. After losing his home, he was left at a shelter and is now in foster care in Fort Worth, Texas. This short, chunky boy enjoys walks, cuddling, and relaxing on the couch with his favorite people.
Ideal Home
Vader would thrive with a calm couple, single person, or family looking for a loyal companion. He does well with men and women and can be the only dog or live with an easygoing canine companion. He is friendly with male and female dogs but prefers calm dogs rather than puppies or hyperactive playmates. Older children are okay if they do not harass or jump on him. He prefers gentle play and is not suited for hikes.
A home without tie-outs or an electric fence is required.
Ongoing Health
Vader is neutered, heartworm negative, and up to date on all shots. His foster family is working with him on gradual weight loss.
Training & Support
Vader is crate trained and potty trained. He enjoys a relaxed routine with a walk or two, cuddling, and settling in for a quiet evening.
Application Details

- An application, group text with the foster or rescuer, virtual home visit and meet-and-greet if available, reference check, board approval, and adoption contract are part of the process.
- The adoption fee is $350.
- Transport can be arranged after adoption is finalized, or adopters may arrange their own transport without changing the adoption fee.
Transportation
Transport can be arranged after adoption is finalized through K9 Delivery LLC. Adopters should review the transport route and confirm they can reach the designated pickup point. The adoption contribution covers transport costs.
