About Oakley
Hi there! I’m Oakley, and I’m an incredibly sweet and happy girl who’s bursting with potential to be your new best friend! I’m a loyal sidekick, ready for any adventure you can dream up. I love being by your side, whether we're going for a walk, playing fetch, or just snuggling up.
I’m already a pro at house training and I’m very comfortable in my crate, which I actually quite enjoy! Mealtime is no issue, as I’m not food aggressive and am very polite. I know some basic commands like "sit" (and sometimes "stay"!), and I’m always eager to please, especially if there are tasty treats involved. Belly rubs are a favorite, and I’m always up for a game of fetch! I’m also great with other dogs of all sizes, being friendly and passive with them. Walks and yard time are a blast, and I love exploring the outdoors on a leash.
Ideal Home
I do well with older children and am friendly and excited around them. However, I can be a little clumsy and might jump up when I’m super happy, and my wagging tail can pack a punch, so I might not be the best fit for very young children. I’m generally friendly and excited around female strangers, and while I can be a bit fearful of male strangers initially, I warm up nicely with patient and gentle introductions. Because I have a strong prey drive and think chasing is a fun game, I’m not a good match for a home with cats.
Ongoing Health
My adoption fee includes up-to-date vaccinations, dewormer, and heartworm/flea prevention. I also come with a microchip that is already registered to you!
Training & Support
I’m a smart cookie who loves to learn, especially with treats! While I’m eager to please, I can get a little too excited and might help remove stuffing from toys, so supervising playtime with toys might be a good idea.
