About Hattie
Meet Hattie, a cuddly, playful five-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever/Hound/Carolina Dog mix in Birmingham, Alabama. This 35-pound golden-tan girl is loyal, affectionate, and happiest close to her favorite people—whether cuddling on the couch, relaxing in the yard, or exploring hiking trails.
Hattie has completed formal obedience training and knows sit, stay, leave it, wait, touch, look at me, shake, come, lap, bring it to me, and “go chill.” She enjoys positive-reinforcement training, rides well in the car, settles comfortably in her crate during a typical workday, and has excellent house manners. She is also especially attuned to people’s emotions and offers gentle comfort when someone is feeling down.
Ideal Home
Hattie needs to be the only pet. She has had several altercations with other dogs in her home, although she remains calm around dogs during walks and training classes. Because incidents can happen without obvious warning, she needs an adult-only home or a home with older children, plus an experienced guardian able to provide structure, thoughtful management, and continued positive reinforcement. A securely fenced yard would give her space to run, sniff, and relax safely.
Ongoing Health
Hattie is spayed, microchipped, and current on vaccinations.
Training & Support
Hattie is house-trained, crate-trained, car-friendly, and formally obedience-trained. She thrives with affection, structure, and opportunities to learn.
