Zac is a handsome 5-year-old, neutered Anatolian Shepherd mix who weighs about 60 pounds. He was rescued from a county shelter and has since undergone FHO surgery on a back leg due to a previous, untreated injury. The surgery was successful, and Zac has fully recovered with no further medical needs or medications required. He's a loyal companion who enjoys a good balance of playtime and cuddles, gets along wonderfully with other dogs of all sizes, and is calm on walks, not reacting to other dogs.
Inside the home, Zac is a relaxed, low-energy dog who loves to be near his people. He is house-trained, crate-trained, and readily goes into his crate with a treat. Zac thrives on attention, loves belly rubs and gentle pets, and can be quite the conversationalist, especially when dinner or treats are involved! He enjoys toys and treats and has shown no signs of resource guarding. While he hasn't lived with young children, his foster believes he would do well with a family willing to continue teaching him not to jump up when excited.
Ideal Home
Zac would do best in a home where he won't be left alone for long periods. He seems happiest when he has canine companions or when his people are nearby.
Ongoing Health
Zac has fully recovered from FHO surgery on one of his back legs and requires no further medical intervention or medication.
Training & Support
Zac is house-trained and crate-trained. He is also learning not to jump up when excited, and a family willing to continue this training would be ideal.
