Meet Khaleesi! This beautiful tri-colored Border Collie mix is looking for a very special and patient home. She found herself in a shelter after she and her dog-family were surrendered. Khaleesi arrived at her foster home extremely shut down and terrified of everything. Her first month in foster care was spent hiding in a corner, but she has since made amazing strides! Khaleesi now ventures out in the yard, goes on trips to Lowes, and is even happy to meet new people on her terms. Her foster will explain this in more detail, but any pressure from strangers can cause her to shut down.

Ideal Home

Khaleesi would thrive in a quiet home with a single person or couple that has no kids and lives in a more rural area. She needs a low-trafficked environment as the hustle and bustle of an active household could cause her to shut down. A confident and playful dog or two would be beneficial for her to have someone to rely on and follow their lead. A HARD fenced-in yard is required.

Ongoing Health

Khaleesi takes medication for car rides of any length for nausea and anxiety and will likely need it for the foreseeable future.

Training & Support

Khaleesi is house and crate-trained and walks well on a leash. She is learning new things every day, including how to catch a disc, which she seems to love! She is cuddly once she trusts you, and the bond you will share will be incredibly strong. She has a very soft personality, and even a slight change in tone of voice can make her cower. Patience is key with Khaleesi.
