Tom Jones the Squishy Faced Snuggle King

Tom Jones is a handsome, approximately 5-year-old gentleman who is ready to be your built-in best friend and the ultimate couch companion. He's at that perfect age where he knows the rules but is still full of goofy charm and boundless love. With his salt-and-pepper face and incredibly soft fur, Tom is a dog who only gets more endearing with time. He's a professional snuggler who loves leaning into his people, carrying his favorite toys, and ensuring your couch is never empty. Tom deeply loves his humans and will be your loyal shadow, always by your side. He recently spent a day out with our Director of Behavior and truly shined. He was a perfect gentleman with her 5-year-old son and 5-year-old autistic daughter, handling car rides like a pro and taking everything in stride. While he might need a little help getting into the car, his affectionate nature more than makes up for any lack of athleticism. Tom made friends everywhere he went, melting into arms and laps, rolling over for belly rubs. People remarked on his Teddy Bear-like appearance due to his thick, soft coat and perpetual smile. He was a star at the vet, greeting everyone with affection and remaining calm and focused, showing no interest in other dogs. He was particularly joyful and loving with children, matching the energy of the 5-year-old and being gentle and unbothered with the 3-year-old. Tom even had a funny moment with his reflection, briefly mistaking it for a new friend before losing interest. His wonderful personality extended to doggy daycare, where he was described as the most loving, happy boy. He prefers calm to medium-energy dog friends and takes his time getting to know new pups. Once comfortable, he enjoys playtime and can be playfully vocal. Tom could also be the sole prince of a household, but cats are not his preference. He is potty-trained and has lived in a home before, but would benefit from continued leash-walking practice to build his confidence. His calm, people-oriented nature makes him a great candidate for apartment living with continued leash work. Tom was previously fostered with an elderly couple who adored him.

Ideal Home

Tom would love a home where he can be your constant companion. He's a great candidate for apartment living if his leash manners continue to be worked on. He does not get along with cats.

Tom is located in Texas and can be transported nationwide via our rescue's USDA-certified transport system. Drop-off locations include WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI, and Canada (pick-up options in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY, or Brattleboro, VT). A $87 surcharge applies due to rising transportation costs. Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.
