About Nico
Barks and Meows Rescue introduces Nico, a kind and gentle six-year-old Foxhound with a calm, even-keel demeanor. This short-haired hound is focused, moderately energetic, and enjoys car rides, outdoor time with the family, and cuddling on the couch. He loves his foster dad and is happiest when included in daily family life.
Ideal Home
Nico does well with other dogs, though he prefers companionship over play. He has not lived with children during the past four years, but he was reportedly very good with them previously. Because he has a prey drive, a cat-free home is mandatory. Nico enjoys walks but needs some leash work, and he will need a coat in cold weather.
He sleeps on a dog bed at night and does not enjoy the crate. Nico may climb onto chairs or windowsills to look outside, but he is otherwise never destructive. He is curious, gentle, and not a bully.
Ongoing Health
Nico is described as allergy-free and very healthy. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and 4DX tested negative. He has a typical hound appetite and is fed twice daily.
Training & Support
Nico enjoys walks but will need continued leash work. He is not comfortable in a crate.
