Steve

Steve is a handsome boy with an old soul who loves belly rubs and lounging around all day, though he does get the occasional zoomies. He was picked up with Violet in Louisiana in September 2023 and would love a home where he can simply chill and be near his people. He enjoys coming inside and is crate trained. Steve does well with most kids, and a 6-year-old has even been able to walk him on her own due to his decent leash manners. He has also been around horses and never bothered them.

Ideal Home

Steve would do best in a home where he can receive all the attention or share it with Violet, another adoptable dog. He is an escape artist with traditional fencing and runs, but he does very well with an in-ground or collar fence. He is dog-selective and especially dislikes other male dogs, though he gets along with female dogs.

Ongoing Health

Steve was heartworm positive when he was rescued but has since completed his treatment. He now only requires yearly preventative medication.

Training & Support

Steve has decent leash manners. He is dog-selective and must be the only male dog in the household.
