Kirby

Kirby is one of four adorable, smaller mixed-breed pups rescued from an overburdened animal control facility in rural Kentucky. He's now in a loving foster home in Chicago, eagerly waiting to meet his forever family! Kirby is estimated to be around 4 months old and currently weighs between 9 and 13 pounds. Based on his current size and age, he's expected to be a small dog, around 20-30 pounds, when fully grown. His breed mix is a delightful mystery, but we suspect hints of Chihuahua, terrier breeds like Jack Russell or Rat Terrier, and possibly Pomeranian or Pekingese. Kirby is a friendly, social, curious, and happy pup who will make a fantastic companion. He's likely to be clever, feisty, enthusiastic, and energetic, and will thrive with an active and engaging family with a great sense of humor!

Ideal Home

Kirby will thrive with an active and engaging family who understands the time commitment puppies require. Please remember that puppies need frequent potty breaks (every 3-4 hours), lots of playtime, engagement, and mental stimulation throughout the day.

Ongoing Health

Kirby has been neutered, is up-to-date with age-appropriate vaccines, and is microchipped. He has also started on flea and heartworm preventatives.

Training & Support

As a young puppy, Kirby will need consistent training, frequent potty breaks, and plenty of positive reinforcement to help him learn and grow.
