About Gio

Gio, a 4-year-old, 78-pound black lab mix, is ready to fill your life with bear hugs! He's a certified love bug who enjoys cuddling and will happily crawl into your lap for attention. Gio also has a playful side and loves walks and splashing in the water, making him a great companion for both adventure and relaxation. He’s a good boy in the car and enjoys exploring, but he's equally happy to chill at home with his favorite people. Gio is doing wonderfully in his obedience classes and is mastering leash walking. While he's enthusiastic about meeting new friends, he's learning to manage his excitement. He is working on some mild food guarding, but he's making good progress.

Ideal Home

Gio currently lives with older female dogs and respects their space. He would do best in a home with female dogs or as the only dog. He hasn't been cat-tested, but with proper introductions, he may be fine with feline friends. Homes with children 10 years and older are recommended.

Ongoing Health

Gio is crate-trained. He has been known to chew when bored, but plenty of toys and activities keep him entertained.

Training & Support

Gio is excelling in obedience classes and leash walking. He is learning to manage his excitement around new friends. He is also working on mild food guarding behaviors. He will come with a few training sessions to help him succeed in his new home.
