Meet Gracie Mae!
This charming five-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound mix is a gentle soul with a warm, white and golden coat, ready to bring companionship into your life. Gracie Mae is a medium-sized girl, weighing about 40 pounds, and she possesses the classic curiosity and musical heart of her hound heritage. She thrives on structure and routine, which helps her feel confident and relaxed. Her favorite treasures include stuffy toys and sturdy Benebones, and a lively game of fetch can quickly bring out her playful side! When playtime winds down, Gracie Mae happily leans in for affectionate snuggles, known for cuddling close as if sharing a quiet secret.
Gracie Mae has grown up in a busy household with children, including a neurodivergent child, and has handled the activity with patience and calm. She is comfortable around kids and enjoys being part of the lively rhythm of family life. Her friendly and steady nature allows her to adjust well to the everyday sounds and energy of a home full of people. She has also lived successfully with another dog and is generally comfortable around people.
Ideal Home
Gracie Mae would thrive in a caring environment where someone is home much of the time to keep her engaged with play, walks, and connection. Her hound instincts may encourage her to chase small animals during walks, so thoughtful introductions and attentive guidance will help her succeed.
Ongoing Health
Gracie Mae's vaccinations are up to date, she is spayed, and microchipped.
Training & Support
Gracie Mae has learned commands like "sit" and responds well to patient guidance and positive reinforcement. She is crate-trained and can rest calmly during a workday. While she has learned to go potty outside and understands the "go potty" command, she is also accustomed to using pee pads indoors. Outdoor sounds and distractions can sometimes make her feel uncertain, and she does not currently signal when she needs to go outside, often preferring the comfort of pee pads. With patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement training, routines like this can continue to improve over time. She sometimes feels unsure about delivery drivers or unfamiliar visitors and benefits from gentle introductions.
