Romina

Romina is a beautiful young pup, about 1 year and 8 months old, weighing 57 lbs. She has an incredible spirit and a big heart that shines through her playful personality. Romina had a tough start to life, found abandoned and injured. After rescue and veterinary care, it was discovered she had an old, healed hip fracture. While one of her legs is slightly shorter, it doesn't slow her down! She is full of energy and loves to run, chase balls, and chew toys. Romina is loyal, curious, and affectionate with people. She gets along with other dogs and has lived with cats, though she can be a bit rough during play, so supervision is recommended. She enjoys the company of children and adults and is used to sleeping in her crate. Romina walks nicely on a leash and has a strong bark. As she is still young and enjoys chewing, she will thrive in a home that provides structure, playtime, and love.

Ideal Home

A home with a tall, fenced backyard and an active family that enjoys outdoor activities. Families should have a genuine intention to rescue and understand the needs of street animals, including their need for protection and education. Experience in dog behavior and training, or a willingness to hire a trainer, is highly valued. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are essential. Romina is not house-trained.

Ongoing Health

Romina has a healed hip fracture, resulting in one leg being slightly shorter than the others. She has received a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and Rabies vaccines, Bordetella vaccine, is dewormed, microchipped, and has tested negative for heartworm. She receives monthly Nexgard Spectra for flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are provided.

Training & Support

Romina is not house-trained and has a tendency to chew. She will benefit from a home that can provide structure, playtime, and clear boundaries. Patience and understanding are crucial, as rescued dogs may have fears and anxieties and require an adjustment period to build trust.

Transporation

Romina is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our next cross-country trip. Transportation is available door-to-door for a fee of $400 USD. This includes scheduled trips (3-4 per year with 15-20 adoptions per trip), transport by a contracted company from Montana, comprehensive legal and health paperwork (including USDA health certificates), cross-border transport into Texas for US adoptions, and delivery to your home with real-time updates provided via a private Facebook Messenger group.
