Meet Byrdie!

If you're looking for a best friend who will happily soak up all the love you have to give, Byrdie is your girl! This sweet 2-3-year-old Lab/Pug mix weighs about 29 pounds and has the perfect combination of playful energy and affectionate cuddles. She may be a little shy when meeting new people, but give her a little time and she will be your loyal shadow, ready for pets, hugs, kisses, and belly rubs whenever you have them to spare. Byrdie came to Dogworks after being found as a stray in Wood County. While we don't know what her life was like before rescue, she's proving every day that she is ready to leave her past behind and find a family to call her own. She loves to play, especially a good game of fetch, and enjoys spending her days exploring, playing with other dogs, and being wherever her people are. She is friendly with children of all ages and gets along well with other dogs, making her a wonderful addition to many different types of families. Her compatibility with cats is currently unknown.

Ideal Home

Byrdie enjoys having room to safely run and play, so she will need a home with a tall, securely fenced yard.

Ongoing Health

Byrdie will be spayed July 21, vaccinated and microchipped.

Training & Support

Byrdie is potty trained, walks nicely on a leash, knows "come," and responds well to gentle verbal correction. When she is feeling unsure, she is more likely to quietly hide than react, but once she trusts you, her playful, loving personality truly shines.
