MJ

Meet MJ! He's a 9-year-old Beagle/Terrier mix who was found as a stray in Kentucky and brought to us from a kill shelter. MJ is a friendly fellow who seems to get along with all dogs, including puppies of all ages. He walks well on a leash once he gets over the initial excitement of going out for a stroll. At only about 40 lbs, he's the perfect size for a companion dog. MJ is also a very smart cookie! He learned to sit for a treat and give his paw within just five minutes of meeting his foster family. His aim is to please! MJ thrives when he has people around and can be a bit picky about who he trusts.

Ideal Home

MJ would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time, rather than being left alone for a full workday. He needs a low-traffic household due to his potential for fear aggression and a home with someone experienced in handling such behaviors.

Ongoing Health

MJ is up-to-date on vaccinations and dewormed. All medical records will be provided.

Training & Support

MJ needs a family with some dog training knowledge to help him with his fear-aggressive tendencies. While he gives signs when he's uncomfortable, he requires a home that can read his body language and respond appropriately to avoid any potential bites.
