Scout is a sweet, playful, and affectionate male Rat Terrier, approximately 3-4 years old and weighing around 14 lbs. He's bursting with personality and loves to run, play, and snuggle up with his people. Scout was rescued after being attacked by larger dogs; thankfully, he only sustained minor scratches and has shown incredible resilience and a loving spirit ever since. He's now safe, healthy, and ready for a new chapter.
Ideal Home
Scout would thrive in an active home with a fenced backyard and a family that enjoys outdoor activities. He is very sociable and gets along well with other dogs and children. He needs a family with a genuine intention to rescue a dog, understanding the needs of street animals, and who has experience with dog behavior and training or is willing to hire a trainer. High tolerance and patience for rescued puppies are a must.
Ongoing Health
Scout has been neutered, vaccinated (DHPPI, Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and microchipped. He has also tested negative for heartworm and 4DX, and is up-to-date on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention (Nexgard Spectra). He has a health certificate and a vaccination booklet.
Training & Support
Scout is not house-trained, as many rescued pets require extensive rehabilitation for their health and emotions, and it's impossible to house-train each one. He will need patience and understanding to overcome any fears or anxieties from his past experiences. Establishing a routine and clear boundaries will help him feel secure.

- If it's a match, we'll arrange a call or video chat to introduce you to Scout and conduct a virtual home tour.
- We will speak with 1-2 of your references.
- If approved, you'll sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee, which helps cover veterinary care, vaccinations, microchipping, food, and more.
Transportation
Scout is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico. He is available for transport to the East Coast of the United States via scheduled cross-country trips. A transport fee of $400 USD covers door-to-door delivery. Updates will be provided through a private Facebook Messenger group during his journey.
