Ferrari, a 3-year-old, 50-pound bundle of love, is a medium-energy dog who enjoys the simple pleasures in life: napping, basking in the sun, and keeping his humans company. He's been described as dog, cat, and kid-friendly, and his foster family has observed him politely ignoring resident cats and greeting school buses with a happy wag, hinting at a past with children. Ferrari is generally quiet, coming alive for walks and meal times. He can get a little lonely when left alone, but his foster family is actively working on this. He's a well-behaved boy who respects his toys and has shown no destructive tendencies. Ferrari knows basic commands like "sit," "lie down," and "come," and is eager to learn more. While he's still perfecting his leash manners, he's making great progress. He absolutely adores car rides, hugs, and meeting new people, treating everyone like an old friend. He's up for long hikes, though he learns quickly and adapts well, especially with his adorable backpack for carrying his own water. Ferrari does tend to overheat easily, so a little doggy clothing is a must when the temperature climbs above 80°F, along with plenty of water. He's happy to relax in his crate if his family needs to go out without him.
Ideal Home
Ferrari would be a perfect companion for a busy family or someone who spends most of their day at home.
Ongoing Health
Ferrari can get overheated easily and requires cooling measures, such as doggy clothing, when temperatures exceed 80°F.
Training & Support
Ferrari is house and crate trained, though he may cry briefly when left alone in his crate. A calm, reassuring voice can help him settle. He is still working on his off-leash skills but is improving daily.
