Layla is 7 years young and looking to spend her golden years with her forever family! Thanks to an incredible donor, Layla's adoption fee is waived for her forever home! Please ask your Adoption Counselor for more information!
Layla is a 65 lb pit mix who was rescued from Prince George's County. She is a well-behaved, oversized lapdog who adores cuddles and wants nothing more than to be close to her people. She had a litter of pups last year and was separated from them, which has left her with a little bit of separation anxiety. While she can be clingy at first, she is non-destructive and can be trusted to roam freely in the house. Layla sleeps well in a crate or snuggled up next to you on the bed. Her energy levels are still good for a senior; she enjoys a game of fetch, short walks, and tug-of-war!
Ideal Home
Layla would do best in a home where she can be close to her people. She is good with other dogs when introduced slowly and if the other dog is respectful of her space and boundaries. She has done well with cats, learning to coexist in her foster home, and is more scared of them getting too close than she is inclined to chase or attack. While she hasn't lived with children, she has interacted well with them in public and would be a great fit for many different types of families. Higher energy or younger dogs who are overly boisterous with Layla during introductions may bother her.
Ongoing Health
