Button Mushroom Best Boy

Button is approximately 9 months old and is the perfect tiny shadow with floppy ears! He's a professional snuggler, gentle kiss distributor, squeaky toy enthusiast, and an emotional support sidekick who is convinced everyone was made to love him. Button is the definition of soft-hearted sweetness wrapped up in a hilariously adorable puppy package. He approaches new people with confidence and affection, often wondering if they are his best friend now! He loves attention and has that wonderful Velcro-dog quality, sticking close to his person without being demanding. And let's not forget his ears – one spotted, one solid, both impossibly floppy and bouncing with every step!

Ideal Home

Button would likely appreciate a confident, reassuring family that can help him continue building his confidence. He is more of a gentle observer and would do well with kind, socially appropriate canine friends who are not overly pushy. He has met cats respectfully and interacted sweetly with children, approaching them gently for kisses and snuggles. He could likely do well in a variety of homes, including apartments, as long as he receives continued socialization, structure, playtime, and love.

Ongoing Health

Button appears to have a wonderfully balanced energy level. He enjoys toys, playing, exploring, and adventures, but settles easily and calmly after exercise. He has never barked during his time with the rescue, despite a lot going on around him.

Training & Support

Button approached new experiences with calm acceptance and recovered quickly from anything mildly worrying. When unsure, he tends to "pancake" or freeze briefly rather than react with aggression, and he was consistently easy to redirect and reassure. He showed excellent tolerance during handling and allowed touching of his paws, ears, face, and body without concern. His play style is bouncy, sweet, and softer in nature. Squeaky toys may rank among his greatest life passions.

• The adoption fee is $1000, which includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and years of love and loyal companionship).

• Texas adopters must pick up from the Houston area.

Transporation

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop-off locations in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page!
