Lupi is a brave Baja rescue dog with a story that proves how tough and how lovable she is. Born August 2023, she arrived at Cortez Rescue & Outreach over the holidays and fought through a rough start, including a quarantine for giardia. In March 2025 she was adopted, but a few weeks later a scary diagnosis suggested osteosarcoma. When that adoption fell through, Lupi never gave up, and neither did her rescue family. A devoted foster-hospice team and a second opinion from Dr. Gretel on May 2, 2025, changed everything: the mass was likely a bone infection, not cancer. With treatment, the mass shrank by June, and again on July 23, 2025, confirming it wasn't cancer after all. Today, Lupi is healed enough, strong in spirit, and ready to find the loving forever home she deserves. She is loving and affectionate, thriving on human attention and cuddles. Playful and sweet, she is also calm enough to settle in a quiet home. Lupi is a true survivor, having handled medical ups and downs with courage and grace. She is ready for adoption, healthy, hopeful, and full of love. Lupi is proof that some dogs come with extra resilience and a double dose of heart. Ongoing Health
Lupi was treated for a bone infection that was initially misdiagnosed as osteosarcoma. She has since recovered and the mass has shrunk significantly. She is up-to-date on vaccinations.
