About Cindy Bear

Cindy Bear may not be ready to raid the picnic basket just yet, but this sweet 31-pound Black Mouth Cur mix is definitely beginning to understand that good things can come in the form of treats, gentle voices, and people who keep showing up. Estimated to be around 3 years old, Cindy came into rescue very shut down and afraid, carrying an unknown past that made the world feel like a pretty intimidating place. Fortunately, Cindy has discovered an important truth: shelter people are surprisingly good at snacks. She is wonderfully treat-motivated, which makes her namesake absolutely perfect. One tasty morsel at a time, Cindy is learning that perhaps humans aren't so bad after all. We have high hopes that her path to confidence may be paved with treats.

Cindy is still a work in progress, but the progress is real. She is warming up to the people caring for her, and each small step forward is a big deal. She doesn't need anyone to rush her or expect her to suddenly become the life of the picnic. She needs someone willing to let her take her time and celebrate every brave little victory along the way.

Ideal Home

A confident canine friend would be especially helpful for Cindy. Sometimes the best teacher is another dog who can quietly demonstrate that the world is safe, walks are fun, and people can be trusted. With the right dog buddy by her side, Cindy may find the confidence to venture a little farther out of her shell. Cindy Bear's forever family will need patience, kindness, and a willingness to let her set the pace.

Ongoing Health

Cindy is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and negative for heartworm and tick disease on her 4DX test.

Training & Support

Cindy is wonderfully treat-motivated, which can be a great asset in her training journey. She needs a family willing to let her take her time and celebrate every brave little victory along the way.
