About Cush

Cush is a confident, outgoing, and affectionate 5-month-old Red Merle Australian Shepherd who is eager to find his forever family! He was retained as a breeding prospect but has been decided to be placed in an exceptional companion home. He is environmentally stable, friendly with strangers, and maintains a neutral, confident attitude in public. Cush travels exceptionally well in the car and on the boat, enjoys swimming, and takes new experiences in stride. He forms a close bond with his people and loves being involved in whatever his family is doing, getting frustrated and vocalizing when left out of the fun.

Ideal Home

Cush would do best in an active home where he can be included in daily life and continue his training. He needs owners who have plenty of time to devote to him. Due to his enthusiasm and energy, he is best suited to a home without young children. While he lives successfully with other dogs and cats, he shows more interest in watching cats than is preferred, so continued training around them will be beneficial. Due to his age and enthusiasm, he should not yet be considered reliable off-leash.

Ongoing Health

Cush is clear on all breed-specific genetic testing, with the exception of the possibility of being a carrier for CUBN. Both parents are fully health tested. He is crate trained, potty trained, current on vaccinations, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, and microchipped. Cush is still intact and his new owners will be contractually obligated to keep him intact until he has reached physical maturity.

Training & Support

Cush has completed all age-appropriate foundation training and has a medium-to-high food drive and a low-to-medium toy drive that we believe could be further developed with training and engagement. He is eager to learn and highly biddable. Continued training around cats will be beneficial.
