Bear

Bear is a 10-month-old, 53-pound Labrador Retriever mix who is bursting with love, personality, and youthful energy! This handsome boy is incredibly sweet and friendly, and he gets along wonderfully with dogs, cats, and children. Bear truly enjoys being around everyone and is happiest when he has company. As a young Lab mix, he has plenty of energy and loves to run and play, so his future family should be prepared to provide him with plenty of exercise and mental stimulation.

Ideal Home

Bear is looking for an active family that understands he's still very much a puppy at heart. A home with another playful dog is highly preferred, or a doggy daycare would be an excellent outlet for him to help keep him happy and engaged. Yards MUST be adequately and fully fenced; electric or underground fences are not accepted.

Ongoing Health

Bear is fully vetted, neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations, and kept on heartworm and flea prevention.

Training & Support

Bear is house-trained but not yet crate-trained. He does have food-related resource guarding, which is limited to feeding situations. He must be fed separately from other dogs. With consistent positive reinforcement training and appropriate management of feeding times, this behavior is expected to diminish and disappear as he builds confidence and trust.

Bear is currently being fostered in Texas but can be transported to approved adopters anywhere in the States and Canada.
