About Ruby

Hi there, I'm Ruby! πŸΎπŸ’› I'm a 1-and-a-half-year-old Siberian Husky who is just starting my next chapter. I'm a soft, sensitive girl who needs a little time to feel safe and trust again. Recently, I had to go through some big, overwhelming changes, including being evacuated from Eureka during the fires and moving between placements. This transition left me feeling a bit shut down and unsure of new situations. While I might be a little cautious at first, I've never shown aggression or reactivity.

As I've begun to decompress, my sweet personality is starting to shine through! I've been seeking out affection, gently allowing trust to build, and even enjoying things like having my coat brushed. The more I feel safe, the more I come back to myself. I'm described as very social and generally good with dogs, cats, and children. I've done well with other dogs, especially those who are calmer and confident. I can be a bit unsure around high-energy or overly forward dogs initially, but I approach them with caution, not aggression. I'm also crate trained, potty trained, and very intelligent, so I'll likely pick up routines and training quickly with a calm and patient approach. I'm still in my "decompression phase," so I need a gentle environment where I can learn to trust at my own pace. I'm not a dog who will shine immediately, but I have all the makings to become something really special with the right support. At my core, I'm a sweet, sensitive young Husky looking for a safe place to land and someone willing to let me unfold slowly.
