SHADOW

Meet Shadow, an adolescent female Belgian Malinois! Shadow is an active and engaging dog who came to us as an owner surrender when her previous guardian could no longer keep her. She's looking for a home that can provide her with above-average mental and physical stimulation. Shadow's previous home reported she did well with resident cats, so a home with dog-savvy felines and a slow, thoughtful introduction would likely be a good fit. She was curious and playful in her former home and is noted to be house-trained. To help you get started with your new best friend, Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption – a $200 training voucher to connect with local positive reinforcement behavior consultants!

Ideal Home

Shadow needs an adopter who is prepared to give her significant mental and physical exercise. We recommend prospective adopters do some breed-specific research to ensure they understand the needs of a Belgian Malinois.

Transporation

Shadow is located at the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter. Our shelter hours are 11 am - 6 pm, 7 days a week. While you can see animals in their kennels during open hours, "meet and greets" (meeting an animal outside of their kennel) end at 4:30 pm daily. Please arrive before 4:00 pm if you'd like to meet an animal out of their kennel, allowing time for discussion and introductions.
