Meet Hachi!
For most of his life, Hachi knew only the confines of an outdoor kennel. Rescued from a hoarding situation, he spent his days watching the world from behind bars, never knowing what it felt like to be truly loved. And somehow, despite everything, Hachi's heart stayed soft. He's a total love bug who greets life with a wagging tail, a gentle spirit, and a genuine love for people. He adores spending time with his humans, is wonderful with kids, and has never met a stranger he didn't want to be friends with. He's a big-time people person. The things many dogs take for granted – belly rubs, a cozy bed, and quality time with family – are things Hachi truly treasures. Before we rescued him, Hachi had never even had a dog bed; he slept on wooden slats. Can you believe that? And if you met him today, you'd never know it. He's one resilient little guy. Hachi is crate trained, potty trained, and ready to settle into a home of his own. He rides great in the car and would love to join you on adventures. We'd consider him a medium energy guy; he's always up for some fun, but he's just as happy coming home to curl up next to you and relax. After spending so much of his life living in a kennel, Hachi deserves to spend the rest of it forgetting one ever existed. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a heart of gold and a story of resilience, Hachi is ready to show you just how much love he's been saving all these years. Hachi is estimated to be around 2 years old and currently weighs about 50 lbs.
Ideal Home
Hachi would love a home where he's included, cherished, and loved. He is good with kids and generally does well with other dogs, especially confident ones. He can sometimes try to play the "big tough guy" with more timid dogs, so slow introductions are key.
Ongoing Health
Hachi is still working on gaining weight after years of being underfed. His ideal weight is probably closer to 60 lbs, so bring on the treats!
Training & Support
Hachi is crate trained and potty trained. While he tends to do better with confident dogs, he needs slow introductions to other pups.
