Esther

Esther is a sweet senior Dachshund, approximately 12 years old and weighing around 15 lbs. She's a brown and black girl with a long coat that is a bit patchy due to skin issues. Esther was found abandoned and alone, but despite her past, she's incredibly trusting, affectionate, and gentle. She loves being by your side and will happily follow you around the house. She gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats, and is good with children. Esther walks well on a leash and enjoys exploring, with a low to moderate energy level. She's house-trained and prefers to go outside when her family is home.

Ideal Home

Esther would thrive in a home where her human is present most of the time, as she can be vocal when separated from her people.

Ongoing Health

Esther has a few health considerations. Her skin is irritated, and she is scheduled for dental work. A biopsy showed skin cancer, which is currently being evaluated for treatment. She has also tested positive for Cushing's Disease, a lifelong condition for which she has started treatment. On a positive note, she is heartworm negative.

Training & Support

Esther is house-trained and walks well on a leash. She can be vocal when left alone, so a home with a more present human would be ideal.
