Sissy

Meet Sissy, a 6-year-old, 13-pound sweetheart with a charming face mask! Sissy was rescued in the Southwest after her owner sadly passed away. This affectionate and loving girl is a homebody at heart, happiest when she's curled up close to her people with her tail wagging. She can be a little cautious and curious in new situations, needing a bit of time to warm up, but her sweet side will shine through! She generally ignores other dogs on walks and will quietly signal if she prefers not to interact, without any barking or fuss. Sissy is working on some separation anxiety, common in rescue dogs, but she's making great progress with a consistent routine and patience.

Ideal Home

Sissy would thrive in a moderate-to-calm apartment household. She needs a patient adopter who loves a velcro dog and can give her the time she needs to decompress and build confidence.

Ongoing Health

Sissy previously tested positive for heartworm and has successfully completed treatment.

Training & Support

Sissy is fully potty trained and lets her people know when she needs to go out. She walks well on a leash and is very food-motivated, making training a breeze! She's getting more comfortable in her crate each day. A calm canine companion could help ease her anxiety, but she'll need time to warm up to them first.
