Afton

Afton is a sweet, goofy, and calm 6-year-old Siberian Husky mix who weighs 41lbs and is working on gaining weight to reach her healthy adult weight of 60-70lbs. She's taking some time to warm up but is happily adjusting to life as a family dog. Afton is house-trained, crate-trained, enjoys her time outdoors, and walks well on a leash. She even knows the "sit" command! Once she trusts you, she promises to be a loyal and loving companion.

Afton would thrive in a home where she can continue to build confidence and receive love and patience as she settles in.

Ongoing Health

Afton is currently underweight and is being monitored by her foster to help her gain weight to a healthy range. She is up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations, has been dewormed, and is on monthly preventatives. Her adoption fee covers her spay, microchip, and vaccinations.

Training & Support

Afton is house-trained and crate-trained. As with any dog, ongoing training and socialization are encouraged for responsible ownership.

• A completed adoption application is required to move forward.
• We conduct a vet reference check for all resident animals (dogs must be altered, up-to-date on DHPP/rabies and monthly preventatives; cats must be altered and up-to-date on rabies).
• A virtual home visit will be scheduled to discuss the adoption process and view your home.

Transportation

Afton is being fostered in Richmond, VA. Adopters must be within a reasonable distance of Richmond or Virginia Beach to accommodate spay/neuter procedures at our approved clinics.
