He walks like a dream with a gentle leader. Maui is playful and loves a good game of tug-of-war or a romp in the yard, followed by some quality snuggle time. He enjoys the company of other dogs and plays gently, though he can sometimes be a bit possessive of his space. He's also wonderful with children, showing incredible gentleness, but his enthusiastic greetings might be a bit much for very small kids. Maui is searching for a patient and loving family who can provide him with consistent guidance and a comfortable home to call his own. Ideal Home
Maui would thrive in a home that can provide structure, clear boundaries, and positive reinforcement. While he loves children, his excitement could accidentally knock over very small kids, so a family with a bit more space or slightly older children might be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Maui has mild skin sensitivities and requires regular use of an anti-itch shampoo. His ears also need routine cleaning. He is currently in the process of being weaned off trazodone. All CAWS animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.
Training & Support
Maui is house-trained and crate-trained with a routine. He walks well on a gentle leader. He may need continued guidance to help him navigate situations where he might be possessive of space.
