Meet Maxwell!
Maxwell is an energetic, playful, and affectionate pup with a heart as big as his adventurous spirit. Life might look and sound a little different for him due to his vision and hearing impairments, but that doesn't stop him from embracing every moment with curiosity and joy. He's on the lookout for a special family who will love and support him just as he is, and he promises to give all his love in return! When it comes to playtime, Maxwell is all in, with favorite activities including chasing balls, tugging on ropes, and exploring the world on walks. He absolutely adores being close to his people and thrives on companionship. Being left alone isn't his favorite, and he might bark to let you know he misses you, so he'd love a home where someone is around most of the time. Maxwell may need a little extra understanding, but the love and joy he'll bring to your life will make it all worthwhile. He's a resilient, loving boy who's ready to be your loyal companion.
Ideal Home
Maxwell would thrive in a home with a calm, patient family who understands his unique needs. A physical fence is a must to keep him safe while he explores and plays, preferably with a midsize to large yard for zoomies! He would do best with a calm, submissive doggy sibling to be his buddy and help him feel more secure. If there are children, he'd do best with older kids (12+) who have a gentle and calm demeanor. An experienced owner, especially someone familiar with caring for dogs with hearing or vision impairments, would be a huge plus! Maxwell also prefers a home where someone is present most of the time, ideally with a work-from-home situation or a family not gone for more than 6 hours at a time.
Ongoing Health
Maxwell navigates the world with limited sight and hearing. He may see light, dark, and motion, and can hear some high-pitched noises, but he mostly relies on his other senses. Once he's familiar with his surroundings, he gets around just fine.
Training & Support
While not explicitly stated, Maxwell's foster family can offer guidance and support to help him settle into his new home.
