Meet Mattie – Your Fun-Loving Shadow!
Mattie is a delightful 1-year-old, 23-lb standard poodle mix with a heart full of love and energy to spare! She's playful, goofy, and always up for an adventure. Her favorite activities include playing fetch, chasing tennis balls, and being by your side. Mattie is a true companion, happily following her humans from room to room. She might even "borrow" a slipper or two if you leave them lying around!
Mattie is friendly with other dogs and loves making new friends. She's enthusiastic about playtime and is working on her manners with her foster brother, Buddy. She's making excellent progress with potty training, learning that outside is the place to go. However, she does best when accompanied to the backyard. Consistency and patience will be key as she continues to learn. As a young poodle mix, Mattie can be a bit mouthy during play and may gently play-bite hands when excited or being petted. For this reason, a home without very young children would be ideal. She's also learning to walk nicely on a leash and would benefit from continued training. At night, Mattie sleeps well in her crate or snuggled with her people. She's currently learning to settle in her own dog bed and is progressing well. While a little shy when meeting new people, she warms up quickly with kindness and patience, becoming a loyal shadow. Mattie has not been tested with cats.
Ideal Home
Mattie would thrive in a home with a securely fenced yard for her to play and explore. She would also love to have a young and playful canine sibling. Due to her playful nipping, a home without very young children is recommended. As a poodle mix, she will require regular brushing and grooming.
