Torey

At approximately 13 years old, Torey is a sweet, affectionate senior dog with a huge heart. He forms deep bonds with his person and wants nothing more than to be by your side, becoming the ultimate velcro dog once he feels safe. He loves hard and leans fully into his person, happy to claim your pillow as his nighttime spot. Torey is searching for a special foster-to-adopt home where he can feel secure and loved.

Ideal Home

Torey thrives best in a calm, quiet household with someone home often. He needs a home where routine and companionship help him feel secure. He does experience anxiety and can be vocal when he wants attention, so detached housing or a home where noise could be an issue would likely not be the best fit. Torey would do best in a low-traffic home with retirees, those who work from home, or homebodies. Calm dogs are okay, and cats are likely okay. He cannot be in a home with young children.

Ongoing Health

Torey currently takes daily calming medication, which has helped him settle. He has some mild age-related health considerations, including a heart murmur that doesn’t currently require medication but should be monitored as he ages.

Training & Support

Torey may be nervous at first and can be a little grumpy when scared. He has perfected the art of the attention bark. An adopter who understands patience, anxiety, and senior dog care will be key to his success. Give him time, understanding, and consistency, and you’ll gain a fiercely devoted best friend.
