Ozzy Lusth is a 6-week-old, 11lb male Great Pyrenees/potential Anatolian Shepherd mix who is as confident and independent as his namesake on Survivor. While he may take a moment to observe new people before forming an alliance, his trust, once earned, is unwavering. Ozzy arrived in rescue with his mother, Carolyn, and siblings after being abandoned, and the community rallied to ensure they all had a safe place to grow. He is estimated to mature around 70-80 pounds. Ozzy is thoughtful, observant, and quietly confident, proving that strong bonds are built on patience and mutual respect. He adores other dogs and looks to them as mentors, but his interactions with cats are yet to be determined. Children were initially a bit overwhelming for Ozzy, but with patience and space, he has learned they can be trustworthy companions. He is not looking for someone to overwhelm him with affection but rather someone who understands that trust is earned.
Ideal Home
Ozzy thrives in an environment where his cautious approach to new relationships is understood and respected. He would likely do well with other calm, resident adult dogs who can continue to show him the ropes. His interactions with cats are unknown. He can be overwhelmed by excessive excitement from children, so a home that can provide him with space and allow him to warm up at his own pace would be ideal.
Ongoing Health
Ozzy is a healthy puppy. His mother, Carolyn, experienced concerns about her milk supply drying up, but with supplemental bottle feeding and the dedication of fosters and volunteers, Ozzy and his siblings have grown as they should.
