Denali is a soon-to-be 6-year-old, 76lb Catahoula/Pit mix with a heart full of love to give. She's a total sweetheart once she feels comfortable, often resting her head in your lap for pets or simply leaning against you for affection. Denali has a fun and silly personality, known for her zoomies in the yard and her love for playing ball. She was previously adopted but returned due to her previous owner's medical emergency. She can be a bit reserved and nervous when first meeting new people and dogs, but with a little time and patience, her true, affectionate self shines through.
Ideal Home
Denali would love a fenced-in yard where she can enjoy the outdoors, but she's also happy with regular walks and playtime outside if a fence isn't available. She would prefer to be the only dog in the home, as she likes to be the "CEO" and requires slow introductions to other dogs, favoring those her size or larger. She is not a good fit for a home with cats. She has experience with children of various ages and is recommended for homes with kids 10 and older due to her size. Denali is not for someone who frequently hosts guests or wants a pet to show off, as she prefers to keep her distance from strangers and will retreat to her safe space when visitors are over.

Training & Support
Denali is housebroken and will alert you at the door when she needs to go out. She is also crate-trained and willingly goes into her crate with a treat, sleeping quietly and sometimes using it for naps. Denali is strong on leash and is currently walked with a martingale collar to prevent neck injury. While she can be redirected, she may pull if she sees or smells something particularly interesting. She is good in the car and enjoys being your co-pilot. It is important to allow Denali multiple introductions with new people and dogs to help her warm up.
