Gigi is a approximately 3-year-old, 40 lb, female Staffordshire Terrier mix who is ready to steal your heart! She was found as a stray in Saltillo, Mexico, in a difficult situation. After being rescued and spayed, she experienced some serious health complications due to coagulation problems, requiring hospitalization. Despite this scary ordeal, Gigi is a true fighter and has recovered well, though her hind legs were initially weak. Now, she's back on her feet and looking for a loving family to shower with gratitude and affection. Gigi is described as friendly, affectionate, loyal, gentle, playful, smart, protective, brave, curious, independent, funny, athletic, quiet, dignified, loving, sweet, joyful, beautiful, mellow, caring, cheerful, pampered, obedient, patient, cuddly, dashing, devoted, sensitive, eager to please, silly, snuggly, entertaining, warm, and intelligent. She's also dog-friendly!
Ideal Home
Gigi would thrive in a home with a fenced backyard where she can safely explore. Her ideal family will be experienced with the breed, enjoy outdoor activities, and have an open mind and heart for rescued animals with unique needs. Patience and understanding are key, as Gigi is a rescue who needs time and gentle guidance to continue her journey.
Ongoing Health
Gigi has received a spay/neuter certificate, DHPPI and rabies vaccines, a bordetella vaccine, and deworming. She tested negative for heartworm and is up-to-date on monthly Nexgard Spectra preventative for fleas, ticks, and heartworm. A health certificate and vaccination booklet are provided.
Training & Support
Gigi is not currently house-trained, and adopters should be prepared for this. Her rescue journey has taught her the importance of trust and safety, and she benefits from consistent, positive reinforcement. Families with experience in dog behavior and training will be best equipped to help her continue to blossom.

Transporation
Gigi is currently being fostered in Saltillo, Mexico, and is ready to travel to the East Coast on our cross-country trip. Transportation to the adopter's home address is available for a fee of $400.00, which will be paid by the adopter prior to the pet's departure.
