Meet Maple Bar: The Sweetest "Dog Genius" Ready to Melt Your Heart!

With her rich, chocolatey coat and white-speckled "powdered sugar" chest and paws, Maple Bar is every bit as sweet and irresistible as her name suggests! Having recently graduated from the puppy stage, this stunning girl sports a bright, open smile, soulful eyes, and a heart overflowing with love. Maple Bar recently spent some time out of the shelter on a foster sleepover, and her host absolutely raved about her! They confirmed what we already knew: underneath her striking looks is an affectionate, independent, and lively companion who is a total dream in a home environment. Maple Bar is an expert lounger, happily settling right next to you on the couch, even if you've just met! When it's time to turn in for the night, Maple Bar has the most endearing habit: she loves to climb into bed and completely burrow herself deep under the blankets to sleep away the night. She already knows an impressive roster of tricks, including sit, stay (she's working on it!), down, come when called, and an incredibly gentle "paw/shake" maneuver. Maple Bar is fully potty-trained and had absolutely zero accidents on her sleepover. Even better, when she needs to go out, she will wander over and give you the cutest, gentlest little whine to let you know it's time! She hops right into the car and rides perfectly, making her the ideal partner for your weekend getaways. When left alone, she does great in a crate! She might pace or whine for a minute or two just to say she misses you, but she quickly settles down and rests until you get back. Don't let her calm, gentle nature fool you-Maple Bar has a fun, moderate energy level and loves to explore! She is an excellent hiking partner and loves spending time outdoors. When she's relaxing outside, she is incredibly curious, loves to sunbathe, and would be perfectly at home hanging out on a front porch watching the world go by and keeping an eye on the sunset. When it comes to toys and games, she is a huge fan of long-lasting chews and absolutely loves a good game of chase! If you have other pups at home, Maple Bar might just be their new best friend! Her sleepover host noted that she did fantastic with their two resident dogs, initiating fun games of chase with both of them. She has also been a superstar in small shelter playgroup sessions with her canine buddies! Her sleepover foster loved her so much they said they would adopt her in a heartbeat if they could.

Maple Bar would be a wonderful companion for an active individual or family who enjoys spending time outdoors and wants a dog to join them on adventures. She would also thrive in a home where she can relax and cuddle after a day of exploration.

Ongoing Health

Maple Bar is up-to-date on all age-appropriate vaccinations and has been spayed. She is in good health.

Training & Support

Maple Bar is working on perfecting her "stay" command. She is a smart girl who responds well to positive reinforcement. With a little patience and consistent training, she will continue to excel.
