Norma Jeane is an approximately 8-year-old, 10lb poodle with a spirit as playful and spunky as they come! Our vet believes she could be as young as 7, and she certainly acts like a lively, playful gal. Norma lives for the ball – her ideal day involves non-stop fetch sessions with short breaks for naps. An adopter committed to playing fetch at least four times a day is a must, as ball is truly life for this little girl!
Norma is wonderful with people, and especially adores young children who are respectful around dogs. She follows her favorite 4-year-old human around the house, and they play ball together. While sweet to others, she’s not a cuddler and prefers interactive play or independent time. If you’re looking for an awesome sidekick who is game for anything, Norma is your girl! She has a medium energy level; while not keen on super long walks, she’d enjoy accompanying you on rides, perhaps in your arms or a stroller. Once inside with a ball and air conditioning, it’s game on! Norma hasn't shown signs of separation anxiety and is non-destructive when left to roam.
Ideal Home
An active adopter who can commit to playing fetch at least four times daily is required. She loves young children who are respectful of dogs. She would be content as a solo dog or with another laid-back dog, but does not like overly energetic dogs that invade her space.
Ongoing Health
Norma Jeane successfully completed heartworm treatment. She was unable to be spayed prior to treatment due to the priority of her heartworm care. The rescue will work with the adopter to schedule her spay surgery before she leaves.
Training & Support
Norma is not 100% potty trained. She will go outside if the back door is left open, but may have accidents inside if not supervised. She has not yet mastered signaling when she needs to go out. She is reliably potty trained in her crate, which is recommended when unsupervised.
